Young Girl from Bou Saada by Jamie Cohen-Kiraly, based on a sculpture by Louis-Ernest Barrias by Jamie Cohen-Kiraly.
This sculpture was the inspiration for Jamie’s painting and my story “The Offering” in the book Songs of aBefuddled Muse. Check out the book on Amazon for Print, Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.

This is fantastic, Jamie! It fits in beautifully well with your Dad’s story, too. It’s a lovely reminder that the image perceived by the thousands upon thousands of visitors to that cemetery, no two can possibly be seeing the same thing. But when you as an artist depict your interpretation, each viewer has no choice but interpret that image of your interpretation of the statue. I am grappling with a related understanding of second language acquisition right now, so it was serendipitous for me to see your website today! Thanks!
